THE AREA

The property is situated in the sought after village of Gweek, in an Area of Great Landscape Value, at the head of The Helford River and close to spectacular stretches of coastline and picturesque creeks. Gweek is a thriving village which sits at the headwater and tidal limits of the river and has a Premier Store Post Office, the Black Swan Inn, a village hall, church and boatyard together with the National Seal Sanctuary. There are many beautiful walks to be enjoyed within the immediate area particularly along the South West Coast Path from the Helford River towards Falmouth or east and then south towards the Lizard.

There is excellent sailing close by from the picturesque Helford River with its sheltered wooded creeks. The nearby villages of Constantine and Mawgan have further local amenities with more extensive facilities being available in the ancient market town of Helston including supermarkets, schools, retail, health, leisure and business services. The City of Truro, the administration centre for Cornwall, is about 16 miles distant and provides an excellent range of schools, college, hospitals, retail and business services, leisure and sports clubs, golf clubs, mainline railway station to London Paddington.

The Helford River, Gweek and the Lizard Peninsula are all within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Gweek Nurseries is situated on the outskirts of the village at the end of a private lane and enjoying an attractive secluded setting away from traffic. The area is highly favoured by water sports enthusiasts with the sailing waters of the Falmouth Bay, the River Fal and the Carrick Roads close at hand. There are golf courses at Budock Vean, Mullion and Falmouth. RNAS Culdrose is just over 3½ miles distant and the expanding campus at Tremough, Penryn, part of the Combined University of Cornwall is some 8 miles distant. The popular harbour town of Falmouth, with its excellent maritime facilities and beaches is 10 miles distant.

THE NURSERIES

The former owners took over the former flower farm in 1979 and then over the years greatly altered, extended and improved the business, however due to retirement the nursery is now closed.

The nursery buildings / glasshouses have easy access from the gated entrance and large concrete parking/turning area.

On the lower side of the parking area there is a useful 60' store shed of which a PART may be available for storage / rec room / office usage, subject to adaptation. The Landlord retains the main part of this building for their Dog Grooming business.

With automatic ventilation, oil fired heating and irrigation the "Cambridge" glasshouses with single or twin pitch aluminium frames, measure externally approx.: 65' x 20', 130' x 44', 65' x 43', and 100' x 23'.

The glass houses contain raised tables, propagation beds and have concrete floors or concrete paths. There is an outside WC with low level suite and hand basin, and a Water Pump House with bore hole, of concrete block construction under a steel profile sheeted roof. There are areas of open storage and planting out beds.

IN TOTAL, the site extends to approximately 0.70 Acres / 0.28 Hectares.
