Set behind a frontage of mature trees, the site has two redundant agricultural buildings which it is proposed are demolished. The site extends in area to approximately 0.2 of an acre and a farm gate currently provides access to the land and buildings.
Historically the site, next to the filling station and adjacent to our client’s property, was part of a larger smallholding and the buildings (11m x 9m and 14.5m x 4.5m) were used for keeping chickens on a domestic basis. This use ceased some years ago and the land and buildings have become redundant. The plans submitted with the Pre-Application Enquiry were for a pair of single storey buildings with attached garages and a shared forecourt/access. Copies of the plans and the application form are available from the Agents or from the Cornwall Council on-line planning portal. The boundary on the west side of the plot has changed slightly since the original pre-application enquiry was put forward as the owners are retaining a small wooded section of ground for their garden.
Longdowns has a petrol filling station with shop and is only 1 mile from the village of Mabe, 1½ miles from Penryn, home of the Combined University Campus at Tremough, and 3 ½ miles from Falmouth with its excellent maritime facilities.
